Due to his retirement the critique expected to have lost the impulsive creative power of Pink Floyd. But David Gilmour determined to present another floydian album and didn t dread due to the continuing judicial debates with Waters. He put together the funding and also worked with diverse co-songwriters and guest musicians to succeed in his plan. The album A Momentary Lapse Of Reason not only looked like a Floyd-album but also sounded like the classic Pink Floyd such as Wish You Were Here . It was to describe it with the words of sound critic Hugh Fielder a comeback over the wall in the country where diamonds are crazy, moons have dark sides and mothers have atom hearts. Already one month before the release of the album the musicians met in Toronto to rehearse for the world tour which started parallel to the release of the album.
